The three major taxes are progressive, regressive, and flat. Progressive taxes go up as the amount taxed does, like our income tax. Regressive taxes go down as the amount taxed does, like our sales tax. Flat taxes are the same for everyone. I think flat taxes are the best, because they are fair across the board.
I would disagree that flat taxes are the best, and would say that a progressive tax is the best. This tax would be the best at dealing with the income inequality in the United States as it takes more money from the rich and less from the poor.
I agree with allie in that flat taxes are the best because they provide a stable amount that you know you are going to have to pay regardless of financial positioning.
