  1. I believe the Bill of Rights does affect the power of the national government. I think this is a benefit to the Bill of Right. For example the third and tenth amendment create a distinct barrier between the national government and the people. The third amendment made it to where the government does cannot force soliders into peoples homes, whereas the tenth amendment made it to where even the unlisted rights belong to the people. Thus making it to where the national government cannot just ignore other basic civil rights. It is a good idea because now the people retain certain rights that the national government cannot impose on.

    1. I agree with this statement but I also think that the first amendment has provisions that affect the power of national government. For example, freedom of press makes the national government careful about what they do and what they say. Also in the first amendment rights like freedom of speech and assembly limit the power of national government by making its citizens willing to speak freely about what they think is going on.

    2. I agree but I think that the Bill of Rights limits the national government's power by retaining certain rights for both the people and the State's. I think that this is a good result of the Bill of Rights because it stops the national government from infringing on the people's natural rights.

    3. The Bill of Rights does in fact set limits on the national government. However, this is not a bad thing. The Bill of Rights sets limits on the national government in order to benefit the American population. Setting certain limits on the government gives citizens unalienable rights and liberties. The first amendment alone gives the people five undeniable rights. Without these freedoms the people would be in constant turmoil. By setting limits on the national government, we can be sure that the people of our country’s freedoms are protected and secure. Without these limitations on the national government we would have no privacy and no freedom to express ourselves as we please.
