Ch 3 - Advantages of Federalism
Do you agree that two of the advantages of federalism is that (1) it creates more levels of government which increases access to government and (2) allows for more opportunities for political participation? Can you think of any examples?
Yes, with multiple levels of government comes multiple positions of leadership and multiple positions of communication between the levels. For example, if one wished to play a role of leadership, they could run for mayor, governor, or president. Also, private citizens gain more opportunities for political participation as they will be able to vote more so that their opinions are heard.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jarett and also bring the examples that political participation is increased due to the fact that political parties are a cause of federalism, and in turn increases access to the government because of important jobs and influence.
