What are Independent Executive Agencies?
Do we have too many Independent Executive Agencies? Too few Independent Executive Agencies? Or about the right amount of Independent Executive Agencies? Explain.

  1. According to page 483 of the Edwards book, an independent executive agency is, "The government not accounted for by cabinet departments, independent regulatory commissions, and government corporations. Its administrators are typically appointed by the president and serve at the president's pleasure. An example is NASA."

  2. I think that we have a good amount of Independent Executive Agencies. I feel this because many of these agencies are critical to the standard of life that most Americans are used to. Some examples of Independent Executive Agencies are: the CIA, the EPA, the FCC, and the FTC. There are many more examples, and most of them are involved in activities that the American people rely on every day to keep them safe and secure. I think that if we had less Independent Executive Agencies, many of the freedoms and luxuries that we experience in America would be dashed away.
