Ch 15 - Myths About Bureaucracy

What are some 'bureaucratic myths' listed in the book?
Do you agree or diagree that these 'myths' are just that, false beliefs about the bureaucracy or are they accurate?

  1. Some bureaucratic myths listed in the Edwards book on page 473 are, Americans dislike bureaucrats, bureaucracies are growing bigger each year, and most federal bureaucrats work in Washington D.C. I believe according to the book both bureaucracies are growing bigger and that they are majority in Washington D.C. are both myths. Although I believe Americans dislike bureaucracy since most Americans say they are displeased with the way the government is functioning.

  2. I agree with Madison that it is a myth most bureaucracies are growing larger each year and that most are located in Washington, D.C. I also agree with her statement that Americans dislike bureaucracy because a lot of Americans have little political efficacy.
